The Perfect Stain Remover For Ink and Other Stubborn Stains
Stains Happen
Accidents happen, and stains are a fact of life. So you need a safe and dependable stain remover in your toolbox. That way when things such as blood, permanent marker or pasta sauce do a number on your stuff you're ready.
Amodex To The Rescue
My latest “accident” happened on a brand new pair of Under Armour sneakers. They looked great and were so comfortable. The only problem was that one of them had writing in Sharpie all down one side. Don’t ask how it got there! But it ruined the appeal of the sneakers.
Now Sharpie is one of the hardest things you can think of to remove. I’ve never had any luck getting rid of it. But this time was different.
A-1 Vacuum has recently started stocking something called Amodex Ink and Stain Remover. I remembered reading the manufacturer’s blurb. It said they were the only ink remover recommended by Sharpie. So I thought why not give it a try.
I didn’t have much hope that I would be able to salvage these sneakers. But I took a bottle home and used it. And you know what it worked! It took the Sharpie right off of the sneakers. They looked as good as new.
Boy, was I impressed. So I went out to their website and did a little research. Amodex’s slogan is “Many Stains. One Solution.” They list out over 36 different stains it will remove. You name it, and they can deal with it.
So whether it's Magic Marker, ketchup, blood or tar Amodex has you covered.
Amodex is also non-toxic and safe to use on most fabrics including cashmere, silk, and wool. It also works on other surfaces like carpet, upholstery, and leather. It even does a great job on wood, wallpaper, and painted surfaces.
My New Best Friend
I’ve taken Amodex at their word and have tried it on several other stains. It’s taken ink stains out of a dress shirt. Removed yogurt from a favorite (and expensive) t-shirt. And a mystery stain from a pair of pants.
I am now a believer. It’s become my lifesaver. When I get a stain now, I reach for the Amodex. It hasn’t failed me yet.
How To Use It
Amodex is simple to use:
• Shake the bottle well
• Pour a little onto the stain
• And work it in. They tell you to use an old toothbrush or brush but I’ve been using my fingertip and that works fine.
Amodex is tremendous, but it isn’t magic. It needs to be the first thing you use. If you use another cleaning product or water before Amodex, then it won’t work as well.
You also have to be patient. Taking out a stubborn stain is likely to need more than one application of Amodex. I had to use it five times before I got all the Sharpie ink off of my sneakers.
And make sure you put a cloth or paper towel under the stain when using Amodex. When I was removing the ink stain from my shirt, Amodex was so powerful the stain bled through to the back of the shirt.
