The Miele Compact C1 Homecare is the smallest machine in the Homecare series. It is only 16 inches high and around 9 inches wide. It weighs in at about 14 Ibs. Which means it's easy to pick up and carry around.
Similarly, the three castor wheels on the bottom of the C1 make it easy to move. These wheels are gentle on your floors and make the machine stable. It's hard to tip over.
The Miele Compact C1’s cleaning sweet spot is hard floors and area rugs.
The vacuum comes with a stainless-steel, adjustable wand, easy-grip handle, and retractable, self-winding 18 ft cord.
The Compact C1 has a total cleaning radius of 29.5 ft, which means it can get into the hard-to-reach corners.
The wand is telescopic, so adjusting it to suit your height is easy. And the machine comes with simple controls, which include a rotary dial with six different suction power settings. So, you can adjust the power of your machine to clean everything from drapes to your carpet.
You can park the wand and floor head on the back of the machine when you want to pause your cleaning.
Three onboard tools sit on an external caddy that clips to the hose. A small crevice tool, dusting brush, and upholstery tool. You can deal with most of your everyday cleaning challenges with these tools.
The Compact C1 has a 1200-watt motor that generates all the suction you need. But it lacks an electrical powerhead. So, if you have wall-to-wall carpet, this probably isn't the machine for you. And you can't add a powerhead later since the machine doesn't have the wiring to support it.
Instead, the Compact C1 comes with the Turbo Comfort Floorhead, STB 205-3. This is great for picking up pet hair and lint. And will work well on hard floors and area rugs.

The Compact C1 Homecare is a bagged vacuum. Each bag can pack in 3.7 qt of dust and dirt. A bag full indicator light will tell you when it's time to change the bag.
Modern vacuums such as the Miele have made changing a bag easy. Release the old bag, slot in the new one, and you are done.
This vacuum comes with a standard filter, but you can install a HEPA filter. If the air quality in your home is important to you, this might be something you want to ask us about.
Like all Miele vacuums in the Homecare line, the Compact C1 is a great machine. It will do an excellent job of making your home cleaner and healthier. But if you have a lot of wall-to-wall carpets, one of the other models in the Miele Homecare line might be a better choice.
The Homecare line is Miele's dealer-only version of their leading canister vacuums. These machines are manufactured in Germany, and come with bonus tools. Plus, they have Miele's longest warranty of five years.
